Unidentified substances similar to cobweb-like fibers have allegedly been reported to be falling from the skies of Aparekka, Galle and Colombo University lecturer and Arthur C Clarke Institute for Modern Technologies Consultant Dr. Chandana Jayaratne said the phenomenon might be linked to the asteroid 2012 DA14  travelling close to earth today.

According to Dr. Jayaratne the fine cobweb-like substance had been falling over Aparekka since last night. “I am expecting samples of the substance to carry out an analysis of its elements to determine its origin,” he said.(LP)
