President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has told the final Cabinet meeting of the SLPP Government held on Wednesday that he would give the priority in the new SLPP government to resolve burning issues of the most vulnerable sections of the country as he had been able to have first-hand information on their grievances during the election campaign.
Power, Energy and Transport Minister Mahinda Amaraweera told the media that the President spoke at length about his experience gained when he met people from various walks of life during the election propaganda campaign.
“People in many parts of the country have spoken to him directly about their problems at election rallies. Human-Elephant conflict, land-related issues, water scarcity, difficulties in selling farm produce, poor roads and many more grievances of the people have been highlighted at these meetings.
“President Rajapaksa said he would give special attention at the new SLPP government to be formed after Parliamentary polls to resolve these problems in a shortest possible time because these people have reposed a big trust in him,” Minister Amaraweera said.
He said the next Cabinet meeting will be held after the new cabinet of the SLPP government formed after the August 5 Parliamentary polls.
“President Rajapaksa while expressing his gratitude to his cabinet colleagues for the support extended to him since last November, stressed that he needed a team of honest, corruption-free, educated team of Ministers with integrity and dignity to carry out his national programme in the next five years,” Amaraweera said. He he!! "A team of honest, corruption-free, educated team of Ministers". So there won't be any, then president himself has to run the country alone.

Is he going to be honest, accountable? As for the human-elephant conflict - there are too many humans. Build upwards nit sideways and recognise that all creatures need sufficient space. That should not be hard to recognise in a Buddhist country

You are one of the most burning issues for the nation. Bunch of corrupted thieves going to be back to the power in Sri Lanka unfortunately.

You will not be burn issues, but will burn the Parliament as you did with the Mirisi Kudu attack.
