A key suspect in the Wasim Thajudeen murder case, Ex- Chief Judicial Medical Officer of Colombo, Prof. Ananda Samarasekara had passed away, the Attorney General’s Department informed the Colombo Additional Magistrate today.

Appearing in the Court, Deputy Solicitor General (DSG) Dilan Ratnayake informed the Magistrate that the other suspect former Senior DIG Aunara Senanayake was undergoing treatment in the hospital and was in a critical condition.

Earlier, the Colombo High Court served an indictment on former DIG Senanayake for allegedly fabricating and concealing evidence in the case of rugby player Thajudeen’s murder.

After listening to the submissions made by the DSG, the Colombo Additional Magistrate ordered the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to present a report with regard to the two suspects on November 19.

During the earlier proceedings, the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) informed the court that it had concluded the investigation on former Chief JMO Prof Samarasekara and he was found guilty to three out of five charges filed against him. (Yoshitha Perera)

It's better that they pass away and face the judgment in the courts of God. That means can clear all the allegations and speculations by the medias on this case.

    Roshan Thursday, 16 July 2020 11:36 PM

This is a disgrace to the judicial system of Sri Lanka. When the man in the street knows who killed Thajudeen, the Judicial system can not put the people guilty behind bars.

    Siribiris Thursday, 16 July 2020 11:41 PM

"Ditta Damma Veydaneeya Karma" . This will come back to all culprits .

Why is justice so late in S.L.?Is there no time limit as per constitution? Is everybody lazy in S.L?Lawyers delight!!!!

    Niyas Friday, 17 July 2020 12:21 AM

When this suspect fabricated and concealed evidence ; he was under the impression that he will lead a fruitful long life. Now he has gone to hell where he will get no mercy, so will his accomplice Anura Senanayake very soon.

Justice delayed justice denied Friday, 17 July 2020 12:22 AM

Justice will never be served by banana republic’s judicial process which are heavily politicized and witnesses also die conveniently covering up the real perpetrators, albeit justice not being served, it’s common knowledge. One law for the elite and another for the poor. Suba Anagathayak.

Sure as sun rises Wasim would have come and squished his neck while in hospital.

    hoodwinker Friday, 17 July 2020 05:32 AM

This is all false as if there is no written evidence from Prof. Samarasekara.

    Ram Friday, 17 July 2020 05:37 AM

Pro f Samarasekera, DIG Senanayaka, OIC of Narahenpita only helped to wipe out the evidence. The key suspects were not arrested. Why?

    karma Friday, 17 July 2020 05:53 AM

Ditta Damma wedaniya karma is taking place.Main culprits are on the election platforms till the kamma strike them in the correct moment.

    Ralaharamy Friday, 17 July 2020 06:08 AM

These are twp men involved in the case "AFTER THE DEATH" of Thajudeen. But who are the perpetrators of the crime? In simple terms, WHO COMMITTED the crime? Do they too have to die to meet the victim in another zone?

    Kusal Friday, 17 July 2020 06:40 AM

    Very convenient!

Don Juwan Friday, 17 July 2020 08:02 AM

The Thaajudeen curse has just started. Let us wait and see who goes next and next and next etc. Those guys who involved in passing order to kill that innocent youth must be now getting signals of a tragic end to them also, soon. We will witness the real justice soon. Dr.Samarasekara must have been dying every minute all the time before his death. So with others irrespective of their social positions! ! !

    Justice Friday, 17 July 2020 08:23 AM

Waiting for Death or Karma is negative thinking or a placebo. Real conviction and punishment by Courts is positivism.

Worse Judicial medical officer . Nature will punished. Another medical officer act also same in south.
