The father of imprisoned drug dealer Kanjipani Imran sustained injuries after he was attacked with machetes by three men arrived in a three-wheeler in Maligawatte today.
Western Province Senior DIG Deshabandu Tennakoon said the incident occurred near the Hemamali Balika Vidyalaya in Maligawatte.
The injured victim has been admitted to the Colombo National Hospital.
DIG Tennakoon said one suspect was taken into custody along with a machete and the three-wheeler the suspects were travelling in. (Darshana Sanjeewa Balasuriya)

Is this a warning to Imran not to divulge names of the real leader of the drug deal? Or is it a warning so that Imran will think twice before naming the politicians who got a part of the spoils?
