Four people were killed and three others were injured in two separate road accidents in Kuruvita and Naula yesterday, Police said.
They said two passengers who were travelling in a three-wheeler were killed and the driver was injured when their vehicle collided with a lorry and another three-wheeler at Willapitiya in Kuruvita last evening.
Police said two passengers in the other three-wheeler suffered injuries in the accident.
The deceased were identified as residents of Delgamuwa and Kuruvita. The driver of the three-wheeler was transferred to the Colombo National Hospital while the two injured passengers were admitted to the Ratnapura Hospital.
Meanwhile, a 16-year-old youth and a 27-year-old man were killed when their motorcycle collided head-on with a tipper truck at Naula on the Dambulla-Matale Road yesterday.
Police said the victims were identified as residents of Ududeniya. Driver of the tipper truck had been arrested.

I have always maintained that on a percentage of class of vehicle, tippers are the worst offenders as they comprise a small number of vehicles but many accidents as they need to do four rips each day as target.

Most of the accidents involve a three-wheeler. Don't know when the government is going open the eye on this.
