Deported Lankan arrested at BIA

A Sri Lankan illegal immigrant was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department this morning at the Bandaranaike International Airport, Katunayake, when he arrived this morning after being deported from Australia, BIA officials said.

The Police said the 31-year-old man who was a resident of Negombo had left for Australia in a boat illegally. He is expected to be produced in the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today.
