Western Province Governor K.C. Logeswaran has decided to remove Colombo Municipal Council Commissioner V.K.A. Anura on the basis of a report submitted by the Presidential Commission headed by Justice Dr. Chandradasa Nanayakkara.
The President had instructed the Governor to take appropriate action based on the report.
The Presidential Commission was appointed to inquire into the Meethotamulla tragedy.
The report reveals that the tragedy was the result of the Colombo Municipality having failed to carry out a proper method of garbage disposaland by failing to implement the recommendations in this regard.

Poor man - scapegoat. He did an excellent job when no politickas ran the show last 18 months. It was the Western Prov CM who blocked all efforts to get a garbage handing company in to handle this.

Yesterday Faizer was finding fault with him for sending letters to evict pavement hawkers in petah. Colombo will never develop till we have people like Faizer who will do anything for few votes.

And....... the result is, the Politicians get away! What amazes me is the Governers action.

The tragedy occurred, due to the delay in setting up the recycling plant. Everyone knows why that project was stalled. These commissions are are there to pass the buck on to the sprats.
