Stray dog menance is something needs a permanent solution. At least Colombo mayor can find a solution for this issue. In no developed countries they allow dog to roam and cause problems to the people. How can foreign entrepreneurs come to country like this and invest money? Find a space in remote area and relocate all stray dogs. Get some funds from animal lovers and feed them. Act immediately.

Solution is simple. Drop them at animal rights guys places. They will look after them very well. They got funds from ngos as well. No issue for them.

When I was growing up stray dogs and mosquitos were controlled by the Jaffna Municipality remarkably well. Now days stray dogs are everywhere, from people to animals can do anything as they please. Lawlessness in every aspect of life in Sri Lanka, sadly the current President who had the military discipline going with the flow. The politicians are scared to control the stray dogs, perhaps they think that they may reincarnate as stray dogs for betraying the people for their petty desires.

Then why are so many protesting ? .
Antany Peter Sunday, 31 May 2020 03:42 PM
Foolishness becomes political correctness... When I was given hardships by my siblings, the people and police done nothing, but look how many people are protesting for the stray dogs. If you treat people like me worse than dogs, you are truly cursed for many generations.
Antany Peter Sunday, 31 May 2020 03:43 PM
Ask the protesters to take the stray dogs home and make sure they don't let the dogs to roaming around the streets. I bet they won't do that, because they are hypocrites.

Good old days when anything was being 'taken out' , where were these people to question?
Prashant Liyanage Sunday, 31 May 2020 04:32 PM
Feeding strays on the street is not the solution. They spread disease and still dont have a home to sleep. Take them all in and put for adoption. And yes sadly the ones who rabbied and are dangerous to everyone needs to be put down. Anyways you are more worried a few elites and the dogs than the rest of the city

Releasing of Pet dogs to Road is a pandemic. All may remember on Wesak Poya day – it is a popular news published by media that one owner of the pet dog unsecuredly released his dog to road, Ultimately some body shooted to that dog and dog died. This death, Shooter as well as Owner of the dog both are responsible. Further that day is a 24 hrs curfew day. Organizations and people who appearing on behalf of dogs are not taking about this type of criminals which dog owners’ are doing. Stray dogs are increased by this type of dirty owners. Take Strong Legal action against them.
