Accountant gets 367-year RI for financial fraud

The Colombo High Court today sentenced an individual who had worked as an accountant attached to a private company, to 367 years rigorous imprisonment for defrauding Rs. 2 million from the company.

The verdict was delivered by Colombo High Court judge Shashi Mahendra who imposed a fine of Rs. 1.9 million and a travel ban on the convict.

The judge also issued an open warrant on the convict as he has been evading court.  (Nimanthi Ranasinghe)

    Biggest joke of the century. Judge must have some grudge against the accountant. Sirisena should serve 24000 years for looting 80 million worth of official residence from tax payers.
