Sixteen members of the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) were arrested by the Slave Island and Kirulapona police, IUSF convener Najith Indika said.

He said four students were arrested in Kirulapona while the other 12 were arrested in Slave Island.

“These students were arrested on false charges. Police didn’t even possess a warrant for their arrest. They just arrested the students saying they had a warrant. This is abduction,” he charged.  (SD & LSP)

Government has no solution to students' genuine grievances. Police can not care less for the rule of law, for they have to save their skin.
