14 Sri Lankans stranded at airports arrive at BIA

Fourteen Sri Lankans among some 30 others who were stranded at several airports had arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake last night and this morning, BIA senior officials said. Nine Sri Lankans who were stranded at the Singapore Airport had arrived at BIA at 11.35 last night. The remaining passengers arrived at BIA from Doha this morning at 1.45.     Why were they stranded at the airport? Couldn't they simply stay at the places they were until flights resumed?
