The 12 officers attached to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB), who were arrested for alleged drug trafficking charges, were ordered to be remanded till June 21 by Colombo Chief Magistrate Lanka Jayaratna today.
Earlier, the Magistrate permitted the CID to detain the 12 officers till July 8 for questioning.
Meanwhile, the Inspector of Police who was arrested on Tuesday was ordered to be detained for questioning.
A total of 21 suspects including police officers are currently in police custody over drug trafficking charges. (Nimanthi Ranasinghe)
