National Freedom Front (NFF) leader MP Wimal Weerawansa was arrested by the CID a short while ago at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for possessing an invalid passport, police said.

He is to be produced in the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today.

His EU visa is stamped on his old invalid passport. He say he has lost his renewed passport. He goes to immigration and collects another VIP passport within hours and returns to airport.
