UGGNF awaits EC approval to change name and symbol

28 August 2015 12:33 pm - 8     - {{hitsCtrl.values.hits}}

The United National Front for Good Governance (UNFGG) said today said it was awaiting the Elections Commissioner’s approval to change its name back to the ‘Jathika Hela Urumaya’ (JHU).

The party had also requested that diamond symbol of the UGGNF be replaced with the JHU’s Conch symbol.

UGGNF General Secretary Patali Champika Ranawaka said the JHU was changed into UGGNF during the previous parliamentary election for the purpose of forming a broad political front. (Lahiru Pothmulla)

    It would have been better if the JHU stayed in the UNP but as long as they are in govt it should be alright

    What a joke by the jokers party ? Ranawaka is the leader who change the tunes for their own political advantage.

    I think they will still remain with UNP even if this party name is changed back to their original name.
