A 33-year-old man was stabbed to death by four people at Jampettah Street in Kotahena a short while ago, police said. They said the assailants had arrived in a three-wheeler.

Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said the victim was released on bail a month ago in connection with a case against him. He said the man had been charged with murder, robbery and the possession of a hand grenade.

“We have identified the assailants. Investigations have revealed that the victim had killed a brother of one of the assailants,” the ASP said. (DS)

Why not if the government fail to hang. It is time to allow the family members to punish the culprits if their loved one is killed.

Why should the government has to spend the tax payers money on murderers who are on life imprisonment. To feed them, cloth them (uniform), pay electricity and for usage of water. The government has helped the murderers, Where else the victims family lose their bread winner and loved ones. Who is there to look after them. The victims family should be given the option either to pay the blood money so that they can support the family and to educate the children. Or the verdict should be from the victims family tit for tat and justice has been done for execution.
