Fourteen fishermen from Rameshwaran, who were arrested last month by Sri Lankan naval personnel and whose remand was extended to July 17 by a court in the island nation, began an indefinite fast in Mannar on Monday, demanding that they be released. Where has common sense gone?. If either the Government of Tamil Nadu or the Federal Government of India bought their fishermen a GPS and trained them to use them and designating the border between India and Sri Lanka on the GPS, the fishermen would have no excuse to say that they did not know that they had crossed the border and were fishing illegally in Sri Lankan waters. This would be very much cheaper than the administration of the current procedure.
