Launched in the year 2000, Lanka Business Online, popularly known as LBO, is Sri Lanka’s and perhaps the region’s first web-based news service. LBO focuses on economy, industry, commerce and policy.

LBO is known for its insightful and timely reporting and editorial integrity. Over a period of 15 years, LBO has nurtured a new generation of financial journalists in Sri Lanka who have gone on to lead and hold senior positions in the communications industry.

Today LBO reaches out to its audiences via web, email, mobile, thought leadership events and seminars and conferences.

This year’s LBR LBO Annual Enterprise Summit will be held on July 14, at Oak Room, Cinnamon Grand, with a total of 30 speakers, both local and foreign.
This year’s Platinum and Title sponsor is Leapset, while Singer Mega and Sampath Bank are Gold sponsors. Etisalat is the mobile enterprises solutions partner.

At a media briefing held in this connection, LBO Founder Publisher Lakshaman Bandaranayake said, “Disruption is not new to civilization. Since the dawn of civilization, human beings have experienced disruptions of both natural and anthropogenic origin. Natural history and the history of human civilization provide abundant examples of disruption: geological, ecological, social, political and technological.

The challenge Sri Lanka’s industry faces today is how best to protect itself from disruptions that could threaten its economic future, how to build new business models to move the whole economy up in the value chain, escape from the middle-income trap and propel itself to the level of a high-income economy.

The 2015 edition of LBR LBO Enterprise Summit is dedicated to understanding how technology is impacting the consumer, business and economy in an unprecedented manner and how enterprises should embrace and also respond to technology driven, globalized and rapidly evolving business disruption.”
The summit sessions will comprise of: 1. Business Leaders Round Table - Business Model Disruption is Here, Are you Ready?, 2. Leadership Competencies for Disruptive Innovation 3. The Power of Customer Centric Disruptive Innovation, 4. Understanding and Enhancing Customer Experience Using Digital and 5. Building Disruptive Business Models: Opportunities & Challenges.

Lanka Business Online Chairman Ranjan Hulugalle said that they were grateful to their sponsors, Leapset, Singer, Sampath Bank and for having come forward so readily to sponsor this event, which is one that is much looked forward to amongst Sri Lanka’s corporate community.

Representing the sponsors were Sampath Bank Deputy General Manager Marketing and Business Development Tharaka Ranwala and Leapset General Manager Rasika Karunatilake.
