The Police on Thursday said that the Judicial Medical Officer’s report into the mysterious death of former Havelock’s captain and Sri Lankan ruggerite, Wasim Thajudeen, had revealed that his death could not have been due to natural causes.

Police spokesman Ajith Rohana told the media that on the instructions of the Police Chief, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) had now taken over the investigations into the ruggerite’s death.

“The JMO report has clearly stated that this was not an ‘accidental death’,” the Spokesman said. Thajudeen died on May 17, 2012 in Kirulapone after his car crashed into a wall.

Meanwhile, the Spokesman said that fresh inquiries into the murder of Sunday Leader Editor Lasantha Wickremetunga, missing Journalist Pradeep Eknaligoda, the Rathupaswala shooting incident and the Welikada Prison incident, by the CID have already commenced.(Chaturanga Pradeep)

India with a population of million times more than Sri Lanka do not have this level of underground crime sponsored by VVIP. Honestly, are we a nation of shameless criminals patronizing Lord Buddha to show that we are still human despite all this.

Until the Minister pulled out this case no body knows the bottom of the case how it went down . The Minister pulled out one by one in yesterdays press meeting along with the police chief and the police media reporter because the public was raising this. This is grave please expedite as soon an possible and bring the culprits to the book.

Yes, this is definitely not an accident! This is, murder most foul!! So is the murder of Lassantha. These are dastardly acts by interested people. The Police has been kept under control and investigations were blocked. Now that the Police is free to do their job, please enforce the law, fairly and impartially. Let the justice take care of the punishment. The murderers of these 2 despicable murders should be hanged!

What a terrible backward country we live in. So, the police could not realize this 3 years ago???? What this shows beyond any doubt is that SL police is completely dependent on the politicians for everything. Has not the IGP has any shame on saying he will start the investigation now?? Why are these societies so backward??? When will we grow up and become mature???
