SriLankan Airlines air hostess dies in Qatar

A female cabin crew member of the SriLankan Airlines was killed and three others- two flight attendants and an air hostess-were injured when a vehicle on desert safari met with an accident in Doha, Qatar on Friday evening.

The victim has been identified Ms. Ammendra De Kauwe from Raddolugama. Officials confirmed that six passengers were onboard the jeep at the time of the accident.

SriLankan Airlines CEO, Kapila Chandrasena said “we are shocked and deeply saddened by this news, and our first priority has been to be in touch with the families of those involved in this tragic accident and to provide them with all the necessary care and assistance in their hour of grief”.

For the sake of the family members, the airline requests that all inquiries be directed to the airline.

Those days there were quality AHs and Cabin Crew in Sri Lankan. and they never treated passengers in a bad way. Nowadays most of the air hosters are disqualified, not good looking and coming on favorations......... So may be they dont know how to behave well. But they have the freedom to enjoy life during their rest protecting the reputation of their org.

Look People the issue here is the accident and the death of a young girl. Not about how they treat passengers etc. Just please show some sympathy for the girl and her family. So what if they are out with their girl or boyfriends, since when did that become a crime. I do not live in Sri Lanka, but that does not mean I cannot feel sad at this tragic accident.

What an illiterate imbecile, what village hole have you crawled out of? This is the 21st century. What do you want these crews to do on long layovers?Hide in the hotel for 3-4 days?That is the Sri Lankan mentality that is destroying our people. Im working in Doha, I have seen many times most of the Sri Lankan air hosters/ attenders are roaming around with their boy friend and girl friend..They have more freedom once they landed. So here is the result for that. So sri lankan air lines should implement a rule to not to let them to roam around with their lovers. These airline hostess/attenders are very well known by the passengers... So the qualityof the airline staff bring bad to our country and also to Airlines. Specially this happening Doha, City Centre, Villago Mall, Azpire Zone and also Umssaid Desert driving area. Many people have seen this and complained to sri lankan Embassy staff also in Qatar. But nothing happened...So HERE IS THE FINAL RESULT

I have been in Desert safari in Dubai once. It is terrible experience. I myself thought not to go again. Once you get into the vehicle only knows what happen next and you are too late to get out of it. So sad to hear about the death of the Sri Lanka Airlines Stewardess demise.
