Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya today said former President Mahinda Rajapaksa was still the Chairman of SLFP and UPFA,according to a letter sent to him by the SLFP some 10 days ago.

The letter also states that Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa is the SLFP General Secretary.

“There were media reports that there has been a change in these posts. But no one has informed me officially yet. So Mr. Rajapaksa is the Chairman of both SLFP and UPFA until they inform us,” he said.

He however said that he expects the SLFP would officially inform him about the change of the posts.
