Police says “we don’t know”. The Police yesterday said that they were yet to ascertain the identity of the owner of the Defender which was involved in an accident in Kalapaluwawa Rajagiriya yesterday, despite having direct access to records at the Registrar of Motor Vehicles ( RMV). “We have not received any information regarding the ownership of the two vehicles. We detected the two vehicles, one that met with the accident and the other which sped away,” Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana. The Police said that they are “confused” as to who the owner is. “However, the other Defender too had the same number plate. Therefore we are now confused about the real owner of the vehicle.” Initial reports said that the vehicles were a part of the vehicle convoy of either Duminda Silva or Tissa Attanayake. Several attempts to contact the two politicians proved futile. |

Interesting that the name of the driver of the vehicle is not published. At this juncture, it is more important to find out who the driver is, because it is not the owner but the driver who must be charged.

mR.speaker of the police. You say that you cannot identify the owner of the Vehicle. This shows that vehicles are running in this country without proper documents.I hope that the two children get well soon. However what about the number plates of these vehicles. What a miracle. This is the real aaschrya.

most people blame the current govt but I can very well ask the question from UNP when they were in power for 16 years their crimes such as Richard de Soysa, Denzil kobbekaduwa, ranjan wijeratne, vijay a kumaratunga, 400 policeman, 2001 election pact with LTTE, Batalanda, Dissapearance of the Jvp youths from 88-89 only to name few and we are still waiting for the law to act for those crimes

The final analysis: The Defenders were driven by supporters of the Common Candidate and purposefully rammed into the bus stand to discredit the Govt. Ha ha ha!!!
