National school teacher transfer applications open online

Colombo, July 16 (Daily Mirror) - The Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education Ministry has invited online applications for the 2026 Annual and Compulsory Teacher Transfer Programme for teachers serving in national schools.

In a notice, the ministry said applications must be submitted through the National School Teacher Transfer (NSTT) online portal  http://nstt.moe.gov.lk from July 16 to July 30, 2026.

Teachers applying for transfers are required to complete the application online and obtain a printed copy, which must be submitted to the principal of the school where they receive their salary on or before July 31, 2026.

The ministry said the printed application should be forwarded through the relevant school authorities as part of the transfer process.

It also emphasised that applications submitted in person by teachers or sent by post will not be accepted, urging all eligible teachers to use only the online system and adhere to the specified deadlines.

The annual and compulsory transfer programme is conducted each year to facilitate teacher transfers among national schools in accordance with the ministry's transfer policy.
