Chief Editor of the Ravaya Newspaper K.W. Janaranjana was questioned by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) regarding a news article that appeared in the newspaper recently, Police said today.
Police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said that the CID had recorded a statement from the Chief Editor yesterday about the controversial news article which was run on November 30.
The article published had predicted that Common Opposition Candidate Maithripala Sirisena would secure 59% of votes while President Mahinda Rajapaksa would poll only 41%.
