Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) General Secretary Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thera today urged the government to give voting rights to the Sri Lankan expatriate workers and immediately solve issues faced especially by Sri Lankan’s working in Korea and the Middle East.
The BBS would be launching a separate arm to deal with issues faced by Sri Lankan expatriate workers. He said in Korea most of Sri Lankan expatriate workers are engaged in jobs that carry a lot of danger and some have even got disabled.
He said the Sri Lankan youth working in Korea have requested for vehicle permits without taxes from the government, after they return from four to five years of work. He said since the election is around the corner these requests should be incorporated into the policy of leaders who aspire to get elected. (Yoshitha Perera)
