SriLankan Airlines celebrated its launch of services to Lahore, by organizing a familiarization tour to Sri Lanka for a group comprising top travel agents and media personnel from the Lahore / Punjab Province area.
The group had a firsthand experience of the sights and sounds of Colombo and the resort area of Bentota. In Colombo, they experienced the multiculturalism of the city, dining at several of the capital’s five-star hotels and visiting the Gangaramaya Temple, Wolvendaal Dutch Church, a Hindu temple, the Town Hall and BMICH. They also had time for some shopping and an experienced Colombo’s night life. In Bentota, they enjoyed the thrills of the Water Sports Centre and enjoyed a boat cruise on the placid back waters of the Bentota River.
A member of the prestigious oneworld global airline alliance, SriLankan now has a network spanning 100 destinations in 48 countries.
SriLankan commenced services between Lahore and Colombo on 27th September 2016. The service will be twice-weekly for the first month of operation with flights on Tuesday and Thursday, and will then be increased to thrice-weekly starting from 30th October with a change to flights on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Flights will depart Colombo at 2010 hours, arrive in Lahore at 2335, depart Lahore at 0035 the next day and arrive in Colombo at 0505.
