One dead, seven injured in accident

A 39-year-old woman died and seven persons were injured when a jeep collided with a motorcycle and a three wheeler in the Eheliyagoda Town early this morning.

The jeep had crashed into the two vehicles from behind while three persons were on the motorcycle and five were in the three-wheeler, Police said.

The injured were admitted to the Awissawella hospital and the woman, a resident of Eheliyagoda succumbed to her injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.

The driver of the jeep has been arrested.
