Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran today informed the Monetary Board that he would not be seeking re-appointment as Governor of the Central Bank when his term finishes on June 30.

He had said at the Monetary Board meeting today that he would not seek re-appointment until the Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises releases its final decision on issues related to the issuance of Treasury Bonds in the years 2015 and 2016, Central Bank said in a statement.

Mr. Mahendran, do you have any shame to cling onto a job, when most of the people reject you? If you are a real gentleman, show some dignity and resign right away.

Not, not sur singapore with allow him to stay, because they are a clean country with clean record, there is no room for this kind of people !

Next govt will jail him along with a lot of ministers in this present govt so will be fun

If he is a person with integrity, he should resign now and should not even think of coming back. Why does he want to serve people when there is a big public outcry for him to leave? May be he knows that this is a place where he can make a fortune or he can't get any respectable job due to lost credibility. He is the only man who wants to cling on to the post when public says "WE DON'T WANT YOU" . Does his family care about his pride? Why can't they advice him to leave? Why do you allow your family member to stay when everybody else ask him to leave?

It is very unlikely that any international financial organisation would hire him after his alleged dubious financial transaction as the governor of the CB. So naturally he will look to come back to the country where honour does not matter.

There is a catch here, "he would not seek re-appointment until the Parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises releases its final decision", after all are their people. He can't go back to HSBC???
