A slight change is expected in the prevailing hot weather being experienced in several parts of the country, the Meteorology Department said.
It said a few showers would occur in the Eastern and Uva Provinces and in the Hambantota district.
“Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the Western, North-Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in the Galle and Matara Districts in the afternoon,” the Met Department said.
It said slight showers were reported from a few places in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Eastern and Uva Provinces yesterday.
The Department warned that temporary localized strong winds could prevail during thundershowers.
