President not notified about new SLC interim committee

COLOMBO (Daily Mirror) - A possible split has erupted between President Ranil Wickremesinghe and his Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe after the President was not notified about Ranasinghe's new Interim Committee appointed to Sri Lanka Cricket.

Earlier today a new Interim Committee led by Arjuna Ranathunga was appointed, suspending the Sri Lanka Cricket Board. The names were gazetted by the Sports Ministry.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe who was angered by the sudden move is expected to discuss this with Roshan Ranasinghe during the cabinet meeting this evening.

President should understand the seriousness of the damage done by SLC. Great job by minister and we whole heartedly support him even if we loose ICC status for a while. India backed ICC knows the curroption going on and that's what they wants so that they can control us with money and keep our team loosing to India.

Actually the entire Cricket administration should have been handed over to the former best players long ago.Those are the people have experience on the subject. Due to the political interference most of the players kept away from SL Cricket and they concentrated on IPL and couching other country players.Now they must join hands to uplift SL cricket.

The question is who is behind the Minister? Obviously 'Captain Cool' is a very close confidant of the Minister these days, and he always dreamed of the role.The chances are that the president will support this move to suspend the lot, and he wanted to sort out the mess a few years ago and was prevented from doing so. But who advised the Minister to ignore courtesies? Clearly someone behind the scenes is upto mischief to set up the President against the minister, or someone who knew that RW would not approve of some names for the posts ...... Given Ranil's maturity he is unlikely to fall for the trap. A person like Sira would have gulped it and created a huge commotion.
