St Peter’s College are favoured to prevail over Royal College in another Cup segment match of the Dialog Schools Rugby League tournament scheduled for kick off at 4.15 pm at the Royal Sports Complex ground today.

Apart from the league match the two sides will battle it out for the BC Anghie Memorial Trophy of which Royal are the holders having won last year in a closely contested affair by 27 points to 24.

The Peterites led by Number Eight Shenuka Perera had a successful league round stint as they won all the five matches that they played and ended as the top team in Group A.

They began the Cup segment final round with a defeat to Zahira but bounced back to chalk up a win against Isipathana.

The Peterites are still in contention for the league title which is going to be tough after their first defeat.

Royal led by Number Eight Disas Pathirana had fluctuated fortunes this season as they ended up as the second placed team in their group.

They suffered two successive defeats to Isipathana and Trinity and will only have the BC Anghie Memorial Trophy to take care of and on their home ground they cannot be written off.
