Kandy SC had it relatively easy against Navy SC in the other Cup championship match recording a comfortable 37 points to 28 win at Welisara yesterday.
Kandy SC having taken a comfortable 18-7 lead at lemons made up their points through three goals, two tries and two penalties against the four goals of Navy SC.
The defending champions meant business with play-maker Nigel Ratwatte going over for two tries. Navy SC succeeded to reduce the deficit through a try scored by Nirosh Perera but Kandy SC increased their lead with Tharinda Ratwatte who made one conversion earlier, booting over two penalties.
On resumption saw the Kandy SC putting the issue beyond doubt by scoring a three tries through skipper Damith Dissanayake, Dinal Ekanayake and Srinath Sooriyabandara and Tharinda Ratwatte succeeded to make two conversions while Adeesha Weerathunga and Nirosh Perera scored a try each for Navy SC with Thilina Weerasinghe and Samuel Maduwantha making the conversions.
