The contract extension was finalised following discussions between both parties, with FFSL expressing confidence in Almutairi’s ability to continue guiding the national team towards greater success.

FFSL President Jaswar Umar praised Almutairi’s commitment, professionalism and achievements over the past two years, noting that the coach has laid a strong foundation for future progress.

With the new agreement, Almutairi has been entrusted with implementing FFSL’s long-term technical plans and development objectives aimed at elevating Sri Lankan football to a higher level.

The FFSL also stated that Sri Lankan football is experiencing growth across several areas, supported by a clear vision, strong leadership and a long-term development strategy designed to strengthen the sport nationally and internationally.
