Colombo North and Colombo South in U-17 final

The two semi-finals of the U17 Sri Lanka Youth League limited overs tournament played at the Galle Stadium and Balagalla Stadium in Karandeniya were hampered by rain with proceedings coming to a halt due to heavy rain.

However the match between Colombo North U17 and Kandy U17 produced a result as the match was called off when Kandy U17 chasing 275 runs was at 124 for 6 having faced 30 overs which ensured 71 runs on the DLS method for Colombo North U17.

But no play was possible in the semifinal encounter between Colombo South U17 and Galle U17 in the second session. Colombo South U17 taking first lease of the wicket made a formidable score of 252 and Galle U17 in their run chase was on 57 for 1 having faced 6.1 overs when the match was called off. 

Colombo South U17 by virtue of having defeated Galle U17 in the round robin stage and ending as the second best team advanced to the final.

The final between Colombo South U17 and Colombo North U17 is scheduled to be played tomorrow at the Galle Stadium.
