Former Wesley College and Sri Lanka player Mursheed Doray has been appointed rugby captain of Ceylonese Rugby and Football Club (CR & FC) for the 2026/2027 season.
He becomes the fifth player from Wesley to lead CR. Reggie Bartholomeusz, Iqbal Musafer, Kishan Musafer and Shane Sammandapperuma are the former skippers from the Double Blues to lead the Red Shirts.
Meanwhile, former St. Joseph’s College, CH and FC and CR and FC player Dinuk De S. Wijeratne was elected president of the club at its 97th Annual General Meeting, held this week.
Former S. Thomas’ College player Chirantha de Zoysa was elected deputy president while another former Thomian, Charya de Saram, and former Trinity College player Hamza Hassanally are the new vice presidents.
