The SLIA Annual Awards 2024 Presentation, held at BMICH on 22nd February 2024, was the platform where Rhino Roofing Products Limited was presented with this esteemed award. The event brought together professionals and influencers from various sectors of the construction industry, including architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, building contractors, property developers, and more. The RBS cement wall panel, recognized in the category of "Locally made products and materials that are innovative, sustainable, and cost-effective," addresses several challenges prevalent in traditional wall construction. It serves as a solution to the labor shortage, rectifying inaccuracies in walls, and significantly reducing construction time. Additionally, it eliminates the need for supportive grids and filling materials like glass wool, offering a more efficient alternative for internal wall partitioning.

In terms of customer experience and value addition, the RBS cement panel presents a host of benefits compared to traditional wall construction. It is cost-effective, promotes higher energy efficiency, allows for quicker construction, ensures easy installation with no plaster required, provides effective heat and sound insulation, all while being lightweight. The impact of this project extends to both primary and secondary target audiences. Architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, and industry opinion leaders stand to benefit from the innovation, while house builders, renovators, and the public can experience enhanced construction processes and cost-effectiveness.

Rhino Roofing Products Limited has been gaining momentum as a partner to successful projects, including residential apartments and houses and commercial properties. This story emphasizes the broader aspect that time and cost-consuming traditional wall construction methods can be replaced by the revolutionary RBS cement panel, aligning with the company's mission to bring positive change to the construction industry.

Rhino sets the industry benchmark by using state-of-the-art technology and premium quality raw materials in world class-production processes to manufacture their products. The company places a high priority on the environment, eliminating pollution by completely recycling waste and conserving natural resources by reducing energy consumption. As a socially responsible organisation, Rhino has placed paramount importance on embedding sustainable practices and community welfare into its business approach. Through the establishment of four pillars of sustainability, ‘People, Product, Community and Planet,’ Rhino has reshaped its business strategy to create a platform for sustainable development in its journey to neutralise its carbon footprint by 2030.

SLIA has lost its bearings. Portland cement is one of the worst polluters around the world. It pollutes when it is being made and when it is curing too. We should strive at using less Portland cement. SL uses an excessive amount of concrete through ignorance. I witness single storied residences built in SL, using RCC and reinforced columns beams and floor slabs. Innovative space planning, and layout with sustainable building material would be the way to go. Please be cognoscente that RCC is not a waterproof building material.
