Wijemanne brothers show their class

Champions of the men’s Open Doubles Thehan and Methvan Wijemanne

Brothers Thehan and Methvan Wijemanne combined with success to clinch the men’s Open Doubles title of the Yeti SSC Open tennis championship when they defeated the pair of Ganuka Fernando and Rehan Gunawardena in the final played at the SCC tennis courts in Colombo yesterday.

Meanwhile in the junior category (Under 14) of the Singles event Navya Banagala along with Sahansa Damsiluni, Sheshandri Fernando and Dinethma Ekanayake won their quarter final matches to book berths in the semifinals while in the boys’ category of the same age group Chirath Subasinghe, Eshan Jayaweera, Yonal Dankumbura and Revan Amarasinghe made it to the semifinals by coming out on top in their quarter final matches.
