Walpola goes to Ananda

Ananda College has announced the appointment of Anuranga Walpola as head coach of their senior rugby team for the 2026 season.

Walpola, a respected figure in local rugby circles, brings with him a wealth of experience both as a player and coach. He is known for his technical insight, discipline and leadership qualities that have inspired many young athletes over the years. 

Walpola played for Isipathana and later for CR and Kandy SC representing the national youth and senior teams for over a decade.

Supporting Walpola will be an experienced and well-balanced coaching panel that includes former Kingswoodian kicking sensation, Dev Anand as Assistant Coach (Backs), Dinesh Kumara (Backs), Strength and Conditioning while Prashanth Hettiarachchi will be the Assistant Coach (Forwards).
