Vicknaraj wins South Asian Cross-Country in Pakistan

Vakshan Vicknaraj of the Army won first place in the Men’s senior category in the South Asian (SA) Cross-Country Championship held in Islamabad, Pakistan, yesterday.

Vicknaraj won the event in 31:56.38s, while fellow countrymen Damith Kumara (Police) finished seventh with a time of 33:24.90s and Abeyratne Bandara (Army) finished eighth with a time of 33:25.09s.

Meanwhile, in the junior competition held simultaneously, Sivagaran Thudiharshidan secured second place with a time of 27:03.90s.

Athletes from seven SA countries, including India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, participated in this meet.
Sri Lanka was represented by three senior and three junior athletes.
