Under 19 Semifinal Devapathiraja and St Anne’s battle for final berth

Two outstation schools Devapathiraja MMV Rathgama and St Anne’s College Kurunegala will battle it out in the first semifinal in the Under 19 Division One Tier ‘B’ inter-school limited overs tournament scheduled to be played today at the Army ground in Kosgama, Salawa.

Devapathiraja led by Gimhan Rasanjana who were the runners up last year will aim to go a step further to clinch the title which eluded them the previous time. 

They made it to the semifinals having ended their league campaign with an unbeaten record and as the top team in their group recorded a comfortable win against Dharmaraja College Kandy in the quarter final encounter.

St Anne’s on the other hand led by Yashmin Jayasundara ended up as the third best team in the same group and in the quarter final encounter they brushed off a challenge from St Thomas’ College, Matara.

However it’s going to be an interesting tussle as Devapthiraja will be moving into the game with confidence and aiming to make a repeat of their league match wins against St Anne’s who on the other hand will be looking to take sweet revenge.
