Under 19 Cricket Oween, Enosh, Jason, Dilana crack half tons

Half tons by Oween Salgado, Enosh Peterson, Jason Fernando and Dilana Damsara for St. Peter’s against St. Benedict’s were the highlights of the first day’s play in the Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter played at Kotahena.

St. Peter’s taking first lease of the wicket made a formidable 378 runs while St. Benedict’s in reply were 20 for one having faced 5.2 overs when play was called off due to bad light.

Trinity helped by a half ton by Vathila Udara made 264 runs against St. Joseph’s who ended day one on five for two at Darley Road.

A knock of 80 by Dulnith Sigera saw Mahanama, Colombo end day one with a score of 218 for seven against Thurstan when bad light forced the umpires to call off the match. The matches will be continued today.
