Thurstan and Mahinda clash in U19 Div. I Tier B final

Thurstan College and Mahinda College, Galle will clash for supremacy in the final of the Under-19 inter-school Division One Tier ‘B’ cricket tournament scheduled to be played over three days from today at the Sooriyawewa Stadium.

The two teams played in the same group and after the completion of the first round matches, Thurstan were placed second and Mahinda placed third, to qualify to the quarter final.

In the quarter-finals, Thurstan overcame De Mazenod, Kandana and Mahinda got the better of Sri Sumangala, Panadura. In the semi-finals, Thurstan defeated traditional rivals Isipathana and Mahinda beat St. Thomas’, Matara.

Led by Thanuga Palihawadana, Thurstan will be coming to the game with confidence after their big match win against Isipathana and also having a secured a first innings win against Mahinda who are led by Kaveen Rukshan.
