T20 Triangular Host S. Thomas’ record back to back wins

Host S. Thomas’ recorded back to back wins in their Centenary T20 Triangular cricket tournament played at S. Thomas’ ground in Mt Lavinia. The tournament is being played in conjunction with the centenary celebrations of the Thomian ground which has been refurbished and is being contested by three teams S. Thomas’, Royal and Trinity which is played for the Anura Tennekoon Trophy.  
The Thomians won their first match in the morning session against traditional rivals Royal by four wickets with Royal taking first lease of the wicket making 116 for 9 and the Thomians in their turn racing to the target with three balls to spare.  


In the second match against the Trinity the Thomians went on the rampage thanks to to quick fire unbeaten knocks made by Nathan Calder who cracked 77 in 48 balls that included four boundaries and four sixes and Akash Fernando making a 32 ball knock of 52 with two boundaries and five sixes for the Thomians to make a formidable score of 172 for 5 and Trinity in their turn was restricted for 92 runs which gave the Thomians a convincing win by 80 runs.

At Mt Lavinia – S. Thomas’ won by four wickets

Royal 116 for 9 in 20 overs (Hirun Matheesha 30, Shane Abeyratne 28: Kavindu Dias 3/22)  
S. Thomas’ 117 for 7 in 19.3 over (Mithila Charles 35, Thisen Eheliyagoda 24, Kavindu Dias 15 n.o.: Tharul Ampemohotti 2/18)  
At Mt Lavinia – S. Thomas’ won by 80 runs 

S. Thomas’ 172 for 5 in 20 overs (Nathan Caldera 77 n.o., Akash Fernando 56 n.o.: Kanika Anthony 2/21, Chaniru Senaratne 2/25)  
Trinity 92 for 7 in 20 overs (Virul Grero 23, Oshana Lokuge 26 n.o.: Darien Diego 2/12, Shanil Perera 2/20)
