St. Servatius’, S. Thomas’ retain Tier ‘A’ slots

St. Servatius’ College, Matara and S. Thomas’ College, Mt Lavinia retained their slots of the Under 19 inter-school Division One Tier ‘A’ segment two day tournament when they came out on top against St. Thomas’ Matara and De Mazenod Kandana in the relegation matches played at Matara and Reid Avenue.  
St. Servatius helped by a six wicket haul by Viran Chamuditha and half tons by Diniru Abeywickramasinghe and Vishwa Supun recorded a comfortable first innings win over traditional rivals St. Thomas, Matara while S. Thomas’ succeeded by virtue of obtaining bonus points in their match against De Mazenod which ended in a no decision.  
St. Thomas’ Matara and De Mazenod will be demoted to the Division One Tier ‘B’ segment from next season.
