St. Peter’s overall champions at Arjan Perera Memorial Tennis

In a powerful display of talent and consistency, St. Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya emerged victorious as the Overall Best Tennis Playing School (boys’ category) at the prestigious Arjan Perera Memorial Trophy – All Island Inter-School Tennis Championship, held at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts in Colombo 7.

The championship witnessed participation on a grand scale, with over 60 schools fielding 254 teams, showcasing the depth of young tennis talent across the island. Competing under intense conditions, St. Peter’s College displayed remarkable dominance across all age divisions, particularly in Division One events.

The Peterites clinched the Division One Overall Championship and claimed top honours in several categories, including the Under-14 Division One Championship, Under-16 Division One Championship and the Under-14 Division Three Championship. They also secured the runner-up position in the Under-16 Division One, along with third-place finishes in the Under-18 and Under-12 Division One events.

Their sweeping success across multiple age groups reflects the school’s strong tennis program, quality coaching, and deep pool of athletic talent. This victory at a nationally recognized tournament solidifies St. Peter’s standing as one of the premier tennis-playing schools in Sri Lanka.
