Sri Lanka’s boys and girls before their departure

Sri Lanka’s boys’ and girls’ gymnastics teams took wing to take part in the 5th GYM FOR LIFE World Gymnastics Challenge – the largest non-competitive gymnastics event in the world – which began in Lisbon, Portugal on Tuesday.
Organised by the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG), the event takes place every four years and brings together gymnasts from all over the world. This year’s edition will see a record 3,729 participants, making it the biggest gymnastics gathering of the year outside the Olympic Games.
Unlike traditional competitions, GYM FOR LIFE focuses on large group performances that showcase creativity, teamwork and the joy of movement. It is a platform for athletes who may not compete at the Olympics but are passionate about gymnastics and performance.
The Sri Lankan teams will perform under the National flag, joining thousands of international participants at this inspiring international festival that celebrates inclusion and the universal spirit of gymnastics.
