The Sri Lanka National football team left the island yesterday to participate in two international matches, beginning their first tour of 2025.
Veteran international goalkeeper Sujan Perera will lead the Sri Lanka team on this tour and will participate in two matches during their tour, Football Federation of Sri Lanka (FFSL) President Jaswar Umar said.
Sri Lanka will play their first match against Laos in Vientiane on March 20 in an international friendly, followed by a match against the Thailand national team in the AFC Asia Cup (Saudi Arabia 2027) Qualifier final round Group ‘D’ on March 31 in Bangkok.
These matches will be crucial for Sri Lanka’s preparations ahead of major tournaments like the SAFF Championship 2025 and the Asian Cup 2027.
The Sri Lanka squad: Sujan Perera (captain), Chalana Chameera, Mohamed Aman, Kaveesha Lakpriya, Mohamed Hasmeer, Mohamed Mursith, Fifkhan Mohamed, Mohamed Thilkam, Anujan Rajendram, Waseem Razeek, Oliver Kelaart, Barath Suresh, Adhavan Rajamohan, Leon Perera, Wade Dekker, Jack Hingeat, Joson Thayapran, Claudio Kammerknnecht, Sam Durrant, William Thomson, Jeromy Perera, Harsha Fernando and Garrett Kelly.
