Sahansa, Sheshandri, Damsath, Revan qualify for finals

The semifinals of the 111th National Tennis Championship Under 14 Girls and Boys categories singles which were worked off at the SLTA tennis courts in Greenpath, Colombo yesterday saw Sahansa Damsiluni and Sheshandri Fernando in the girls category and Damsath Peris and Revan Weerasinghe in the boys category coming out victorious to book berths to the final.
In the girls event Sahansa defeated Sanuthi Wong but underwent some anxious moments before winning it by two sets to one while Sheshandri had an easy passage against Methuli Naotunne while in the boys category Damsath secured an easy win over Buvindu Jayawardena but Revan was made to fight hard for his 2-1 win against Parvash Sivapalan.
The quarter finals of the Under 18  girls and boys events saw Vinethya Dharmaratne along with Sandithi Usgodaarachchi, Dinara de Silva and Yuhamsa Peiris in the girls and Methvan Wijemanne, Ganuka Fernando, Ashlin de Silva and Aahil Kaleel in the boys winning their matches to advance to the semifinal.
The two finals of the Under 14 age group and the semifinals of the Under 18 age group are scheduled to be worked off today from morning at the same venue.
