SSC Open Tennis Championship Hasali and Tuvini clinch Women’s Open doubles title

Hasali Gajaba and Tuvini de Alwis clinched the Women’s Open doubles title of the CL Synergy SSC Open Championship when they defeated the pair of Gehansa Methnadi and Akeesha Silva by two sets to nil in the final played at the SSC tennis courts yesterday.

Meanwhile in two other finals, the Girl’s Under-12 singles and the Boy’s Under-18 Doubles which were played concurrently saw Samaira Fernando  win the girl’s title and the pair of Ganuka Fernando and Sandas Usgodaarachchi emerging champions in the boy’s doubles.

Samaira recorded an easy two sets to nil win over Sethuli Muthugama while Ganuka Sandas was made to fight hard before coming out on top by two sets to one.

Boy’s Under 18 - Ganuka Fernando/Sandas Usgodaarachchi beat Rehan Gunawardena/Methika Wickramasinghe 2-1 (4/6, 6/3, 12/10)
Women’s Open – Hasali Gajaba/Tuvini de Alwis beat Gehansa Methnadi/Akeesha Silva 2-0 (6/2, 7/5).
