Police SC and Army SC will battle it out in a crucial Plate encounter at Police Park on March 14. Kick-off is at 4.00 p.m. The Cops are in with a chance of claiming the Plate trophy but a miracle performance is required by Nilfer Ibrahim’s boys in blue.
For Police need a win to stay in the hunt. Their key players, including Hirantha Perera, Amjad Faumy, Hafeez Thabith, Akash Madushanka and skipper Mohan Wimalaratne, must step up if they are to challenge a determined Army outfit. Police will need a bonus point win but the points for and against differences favours CH.
Army SC, despite an inconsistent season, remains a formidable side. Their squad boasts plenty of firepower, and the trio of skipper Ashan Bandara, Dharshana Dabare, and playmaker Gayan Salinda will be pivotal. When in top form, Army has the ability to dominate, making them slight favourites heading into the contest.

The outcome could hinge on which team handles the pressure better in the closing stages.
As the Plate segment race heats up, this showdown promises to be a thrilling spectacle, with everything on the line for both sides. This encounter will decide the standings for the Clifford Cup knock out.
Raveen Alexander is the referee.
