Police SC, Tamil Union, CCC, Colts clash in semis at Major Club: Sri Lankan stars line-up for final slot

Four teams Police SC and Tamil Union from Group ‘A’ along with CCC and Colts from Group ‘B’ will clash in the two semi-finals of the Major Club limited overs tournament for the two final slots with both matches scheduled to be played under floodlights at the CCC ground.
Police SC who ended up as the top team in their group will battle it out with Colts who ended as the second best team in Group ‘B’ today while CCC that topped the points table in their group will clash in the second semifinal against Tamil Union the second best team in their group on Sunday.
Police SC led by Ashen Bandara won their top five matches and then playing with a depleted side lost their final round robin match to Tamil Union. However they will be in full strength for this crucial game and apart from skipper Bandara they will bank on Kusal Perera, Priyamal Perera, Dhannuja Induwara and Vishad Randika to name a few to propel their batting while they will depend on Dilum Sudeera, Chanuka Pramod, Naveen Fernando, Nadeera Balasooriya and Manuja Chanthuka in the bowling department.
Colts led by Akila Dhananjaya too ended their campaign with five wins and they possess a strong batting line up comprising of players in the caliber of Sangeeth Cooray the top scorer of the tournament so far with 406 runs, Dinesh Chandinal, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya Lakshan, Muditha Lakshan, Aadham Hilmy and Dunith Wellalage.
In the bowling department skipper Dhananjaya along with Dunith Wellalage, Dilshan Madusanka and Muditha Lakshan will have an uphill task.
CCC led by Dhananjaya de Silva which ended with five wins look to have the edge against Tamil Union led by Minod Bhanuka who recorded four wins. 
CCC’s batting will be spearheaded by Nishan Madushka who had the honour of hitting a top score of 153 in the tournament and support will be expected from skipper Dhananjaya, Lasith Croospulle and Pawan Sandesh while the bowling will be in the hands of Vishwa Fernando, Chathuranga de Silva, Chamindu Wijesinghe and Inuka Karannagoda.
Tamil Union on the other hand beside skipper Minod Bhanuka will be looking forward to useful contributions from Bhanuka Rajapakse, Sineth Jayawardena, Sithara Hapuhinna, Sachitha Jayathilake and Sharujan Shanmuganatham in the batting department while their bowling has been dominated by spinners with Vijayakanth Viyaskanth being the top wicket taker of the tournament with 16 scalps so far.
Theesan Vitthusan, Tharindu Ratnayake and Sachitha Jayatilleke are also lined-up.
